Ithildin is a literate fantasy RPG of primarily wolves. Greetings.
The land you walk upon is divided among five very different packs: Celebravan, Dúrrán, Gondló, Arcuileru, and Tuilinn.
We coexist with many other creatures-- including some beyond the natural. Ithildin has a unique pull, an attractive force that draws both the mortal and the supernatural. Go with an open mind, friend... and watch your back.
The Bulletin Board (3 sub-boards) News and updates to the forum, as well as activity checks, to be held every month or two. If you see an activity check announcement, go to it immediately. This is also where you should go to inform us of your absence or return. * Come here to post feedback or comment on ideas for the forum!
Advertise/Affiliate (2 sub-boards) Post ads for other RPG forums here, or request affiliation (wolf RPGs only, please). Guest-friendly. My only stipulations are that the forums have no content more mature than PG-13, and that you don't post anything unsightly-- all-caps titles, giant page-stretching images, multiple ads, etc. Don't abuse this privilege-- I'm watching. *Eyebrow wiggle*
The Neutral Territory is a large expanse of land, bordered by a river, on which all packs can meet peacefully to socialize or negotiate. The territory's centerpiece is a gigantic banyan tree, Esgaltathar, that serves as a hallowed meeting place.
Celebravan is perhaps the most pleasant territory, consisting of conifer forests, hilly fields, and mountain peaks. The weather is almost always breezy and beautiful, the seasons mild. Life is, comparatively, quite easy. The wolves of Celebravan put more emphasis on rank and rituals than do other packs, and tend to be protective of their resources.
Dúrrán is, for most of the year, cool and humid. The terrain is mostly a barren expanse of rocky cliffs, fringed by dark, misty forest. The winters are brutal, and the summers aren’t much better. Traditionally a place of exile, the territory tends to draw the misfits, outcasts, and loners from surrounding territories. The wolves of Dúrrán live day to day, focusing only on survival.
Gondló is a massive swamp, warm and humid throughout the year. Most of the territory is covered in stagnant water or deep muck, but a few places offer patches of dry land. Pack members get used to having wet feet and dirty fur. Part of the territory is open wetlands, and part is woody swamp, shaded and cool. Prey animals here are small and quick, so wolves here learn to be good hunters or go hungry.
Arcuileru stays a constant temperature: hot. The desert terrain is dry and unforgiving; pack members quickly learn to stay in the shade and keep hydrated. Cliffs offer a decent, if treacherous, hunting ground, and underground caves give wolves a cool place to hide out. Most of their time is spent at the oasis, the only place water may be found for miles around.
Tuilinn is a sandy beach by the ocean. Sea breezes keep the otherwise scorching territory nice and cool. Rock formations offer interesting shelter and hunting grounds, though the prey animals found here are a bit unusual. As with Gondló, the animals are mostly small and quick, so wolves must learn to be good hunters.
